Tattoo Designs - Celtic Strength Tattoos

Tattoo Designs - Celtic Strength Tattoos

People of strength

The Celts were warriors, feared for their fighting skills and ruthlessness. They were a tall, muscular people who dyed their hair blond and painted their faces blue and appeared naked in battle. They stuck the severed heads of their defeated foes over the outside of the doorways of their houses. They were said to go to battle for the love of it, which made them sought after as mercenaries. The Romans and the Greeks called them barbarians. They were a tough, strong people.

Yet, with all this, they were also known for their chivalry and their courage. They built a reputation as fierce warriors but, at the same time, they were artists, poets and musicians. They were skilled artisans as seen in their metal and artwork. They developed an intricate knot work form of art that is uniquely theirs. Wearing a Celtic tattoo connects you to this unique heritage.

Your strength tattoo

Wearing a Celtic knot work tattoo can be a symbol of strength. It can be a strong declaration to the world that you are proud of your Celtic or your Christian heritage - a symbol from which you can take strength. It can simply be that you gain strength by connecting to a people with a history of bold deeds, great accomplishments and a rich mythology.

Where would you find your strength? Maybe you strength comes from nature or one of its creatures. Then your tattoo can have your favourite animal image interwoven in the knot work or, if are more drawn to the Celtic Otherworld, you may choose a mythical creature from their folklore. The cross and circle found in the Celtic cross predate Christianity and have their roots in nature worship - the sun, the moon. Maybe you can gain strength from wearing those ancient symbols and thus connecting to the Universe.

Knot work designs alone can be strength tattoos but Celtic tribal tattoos can be even more dramatic. They work well as armbands or larger back drawings. You have a great deal of choice, as there is a vast array of designs developed over many years. With a little research you should be able to find your Celtic strength tattoo.

Feminine Lower Back Tattoos - What You Need to Know About Feminine Tattoos

Feminine Lower back Tattoos are definitely on the increase, women all over the world have considered these at some stage of choosing a tattoo design for themselves. The lower back tattoo has become very popular in fact in 2007 it had almost a cult status. What draws women to have this type of tattoo? They can be very artistic, colorful and easily concealed for work of professional reasons, but they can also be put on maximum display during summer months at the beach.

Men love feminine lower back tattoos, a glimpse of them from beneath a loose fitting or cropped top will have men staring at you like a kid in a candy store. Lower back tattoos do promote an air of mystery about the owner and men and women do like to see them.

Choosing a feminine lower back tattoo is a lot harder than choosing a regular tattoo, there are different shapes, styles and colors to take into consideration. Although traditional lower back tattoos had a tribal of religious meaning some of the modern versions are purely artistic design so you can adapt a design to suit you. Changing a design to suit you is always an option, you may see a design which you like but when you add a couple of extra branches or a flower you may love it, a professional tattooist can make the adjustments for you.

Color should also be a consideration for your design, black and grey are the traditional colors of a lower back tattoo but adding some color will totally transform the design and make it unique to you. I have seen some of the most beautiful designs which people have had created just for them, they include a standard tattoo with a dolphin interwoven through the branches of the design, I have even seen one which had her mothers portrait as the focal point of the design, so you can never say that you can't find a design for you.

We all know that size does matter! This should also be a consideration for your tattoo, the last thing you want is a design which engulfs your back, and it would just look out of place and over the top. During the tattooing process a stencil outline of your design is put into place to assist the artist with the drawing, once this is in place ask the tattooist for a mirror so that you can see how big the design is, at this stage it would be very easy to adjust the size or position as required.

Once your tattoo starts to heal you need to use a cream or balm to protect the color, feminine lower back tattoos may be a little hard to access so you may want to get a friend to apply any after treatment so that it is properly covered. Using a proper tattoo product will also help to protect the color from fading although there will be some reduction in color as it starts to heal.

If you've made up your mind and you are ready to look at some of the most beautiful feminine designs which you will be proud to call your own, then keep reading.

I have done extensive research to find just what every woman needs when looking for the perfect design and you can read more about it here - Feminine Lower Back Tattoos

Finding Tribal Tattoo Designs For Me - Tips to Finding the Right Artwork

When it comes to finding tribal tattoo designs for men or anyone, doing your research is important. Some tribal designs have very strong origins and meanings so always know what you are putting on your body. Following these tips could help you find the perfect tattoo for you. You can try searching online for images of tribal tattoo designs for men but you will find you will be overwhelmed by the amount of choices and options are your table.

• Step 1: Choose a design

Even if you aren't 100% sure on the overall design of your artwork, having a general idea will help you and your tattoo artists make things smoother. A great rule of thumb is to choose the design of the tattoo based upon what spot you plan to get it on. Also incorporate how much pain you are willing to tolerate because some areas of the body are more painful than others (i.e. spine, feet, wrists).

• Step 2: Find the right tattoo artist

Finding tribal tattoo designs for men is easy, but finding the right guy or gal to make it real may be harder than you think. Always consider price, patients, and the overall attitude of the artist. Looking at some of their past work will also help you find the artist with the style you are looking for.

• Step 3: Find a tattoo that reflects your personality

Even if you are getting a tribute or memorial tattoo, make it your own. Add designs, quotes, or features that will make this lifelong tattoo represent you.

• Step 4: Recognize when something won't work

Colors are great additions to any tattoos however, not all colors work for everyone. Some colors will not show well on some skin tones, and if you have a penicillin allergy then red is not an option for you. Some people have jobs that restrict where you can place your tribal tattoo designs for men.

These simple steps can help you find a great piece of artwork with some quality tattooing. If you let yourself get over excited about new ink, you risk running into bad artwork and poor tattooing skills. Read some local reviews on local parlors if you have never been to any of the surrounding tattoo shops. Shopping around could save you money, time, and going through life with a crappy piece of ink.

New Tattoo Designs - Where is the Fresh Artwork For Tattoos

I am going to include some very useful tips to locate the new tattoo designs on the internet. We still have too many people who start out looking for fresh tattoos, only to end up choosing some generic, bland design that they don't 100% like. I will tell you why that happens as well as how to avoid it. Locating new tattoo design should be a fun experience and hopefully this helps you out.

I am sure that you have noticed how easy it is to find artwork for tattoos on the web. You can locate thousands of them in the next eight minutes if you really needed to. Most of the tattoos you find will be nine years old and pretty generic, though. It gets even worse if you are relying on search engines to find new tattoo designs (like 95% of us do!). All that seems to pull up in search results are the same kind of low end galleries that don't have many new tattoo designs, if any.

On top of that, a lot of the artwork they carry was not even meant to be used as real tattoos! That's right. Most of these cookie cutter galleries only care about one main thing, which his packing their site with as much artwork as humanly possible. They don't care that half of the new tattoo designs they post aren't even real drawings for "tattoos". It's sad that they would do this, because people will pick one of these designs and run to go get it tattooed. They have no clue that the design isn't going to look anywhere near as good and crisp as it looked on the paper they printed it on. Those aren't new tattoo designs. They are random images that the gallery is passing off as "tattoos".

While you are going to find this type of artwork just about everywhere you go, there is a simple way to cut a lot of it out of the equation...

You can do this by using internet forums to your advantage. The bigger forums are always packed with topics about tattoos. This is where tons of people get together and talk about where they found their great tattoos and the artwork for them. It's an easy way to find the tons of galleries that just don't seem to pull up in search engine results. Most of the time, the galleries you find this way will be far superior to most of the stuff you've been seeing. It's a good way to find a lot of new tattoo designs and a bunch of fresh artwork.

Locating new tattoo designs online should be a fun experience and hopefully this helps you out, if only a little bit.

Girl Tattoos - How to Find the Right Design For You

If shows such as Miami Ink and L.A. Ink show us anything, it's that tattoos are not some passing fad. What once was a form of rebellion is now seen by many as an outward extension of who they are. Women today are becoming increasingly tattooed and searches on the net for girl tattoos have skyrocketed. Some tattoo studios (once called tattoo 'parlors) can even have a female to male ratio of 60% to 40%.

What drives a woman to get a tattoo? The most heard reason in studios is that they just broke up with someone. Some get their first ink after a divorce or other major change in their life such as losing a loved one, childbirth, marriage or even religion (think cross tattoos or The Virgin Mary). This is a practice that dates back thousands of years.

What are women having done tattoo-wise? The most popular are typically flowers, tribal designs, butterflies, fairies and cartoons. These tattoos are also starting to get larger and more customized. There was a time when women usually "hid" something very small on their shoulder or ankle. Today popular spots include the small of the back, arms legs and even chests. Although, the ankle and shoulder are still tremendously popular locations...the tattoos are just larger. Typically being more stylish that men, women are more concerned about tattoos they want and where on their body to put it. Part of the tattoo artist's job is to help the client select a design or possible location that will accentuate a certain part or shape of the body.

Women also seem to be better than men when actually getting tattooed. Men like to think they are tough can take the pain. But when the needle hits their skin they pass out in the chair. Women, on the other hand anticipate the pain and will have a higher tolerance.

Have you been searching the internet looking for tattoo designs, a tattoo finder or more particularly girl tattoo art? Finding the right design can be downright exhausting. People with tattoos will tell you how long it takes to choose the right one. After all, they last forever and shouldn't be rushed. It could take 20-30 hours to find the right tattoo design, so don't get a tattoo on a whim or go with cute and trendy. A feminine tattoo should be unique and should speak about who you are and not copied from someone else.

If you are like most women, you have searched and searched for the right design; be it a cross tattoo, a floral tattoo or butterfly tattoo. You may have searched the internet, looked for a tattoo finder or even searched the books of your local tattoo studio. Take your time and try to visualize the type of tattoo you want before you get it. Try to find examples that resemble your idea to see what it may end up looking like. Never be tempted to 'just pick one off the wall'...never settle for less just because you can't make up your mind. The first half of 2008 shows the 5 most popular girl tattoos to be Traditional Japanese tattoos (koi fish, dragons, etc.), Traditional American tattoos (pin ups, classic cars, etc.), Floral tattoos, Anime (although I think this is a passing fad) and Indian / Hindu tattoo designs. Be careful, though, some designs can have totally different meanings than what you thought and can also be associated with particular cultural groups; such as gang tattoos. Also be sure to have any foreign tattoos, such as Japanese lettering, translated before having them permanently affixed to your body! The estimate is that 25% of all translation in tattoo studio is wrong! There are tons of cases of people going to get a Japanese tattoo of "strong will" and the lettering actually spelling out "small fish" or something worse.

When getting a tattoo, remember that fads come and go, be aware of any regulations your employer may have against them and remember that having one removed can cost up to ten as much as the original tattoo!

People have said that getting a tattoo is like losing your virginity! The rush, the smell, even the pain are extremely memorable and intense. People even say that tattoos are addictive!

So if you are thinking of getting a tattoo and are looking to girl tattoos, remember to make it your own, consider the placement and above all...have fun.

What is more, a tribal tattoo picture has been used by millions of people during the earlier times. As a matter of fact, it has been discovered that such tribal tattoos, especially the ones marked and drawn in the shoulders have been around for the longest time ever. They first discovered in Eurasia ever since the Neolithic Age. In fact, the very first man discovered to have such body tattoos was the Iceman Otzi who lived during 3,300 B.C.

Tattoo Designs - Tribal Tattoos

So you want a tattoo. You have your eye on one of those impressive tribal armband tattoos. They are nice. But whatever tattoo you chose, you want it to compliment you. Not insult or demean you. Tattoos are as old as mankind. Ancient Egyptian tattoos found on 5,000 year old mummies predate the pyramids. But ancient tattoos weren't just for adornment or self expression like today. They often served more practical purposes. They often had a spiritual significance, ancient warriors used them to declare their military affiliation and rank. On civilians tattoos denoted social rank and importance, or lack of same. For example, the Greeks placed tattoos on their slaves that broadcast the fact that the bearer should not be accorded the rights of a freeman and was in fact another person's property. While Greek spies used tattoos in espionage to smuggle coded messages in plain sight.

This tradition of practical tattoo use survives to this day in gangster culture. Gangsters desire to permanently mark themselves to show absolute devotion to their gangster family, and hopefully to strike fear in their enemies. Even though the gang-bangers know police find tattoos better than fingerprints, and unsurpassed for identifying them in a noninvasive manner at a distance. And despite the fact that wearing one gang's tattoo in another gang's territory could get the wearer killed. Again, traditionally tattoos can show devotion.

But how would you like to pick out a striking tattoo design, commit it to ink as your "forever statement", and only then find out it that it holds you up to ridicule, or is gang related and exposes you to sudden death?

For example, one of the most popular guys at my gym is a black guy I'll call "Pete." His nickname is "Lucky." Lots of us have tattoos and so when Pete announced he was taking the plunge we congratulated him. Tribal armbands are very popular in our crowd and he showed a marked interest so we assumed that would be his choice. But the personal choice involved in the tattoo selection is part of the allure so we made suggestions but didn't interfere or press him on his choice.

We should have.

No, I take that back. With personal choice comes personal responsibility, and Pete choose to do no research. Nor did he elect to ask satisfied tattoo recipients for recommendations of a skilled, responsible professional tattoo artist though he was surrounded by satisfied, and experienced tattoo customers. Both of these are vital prerequisites to getting a tattoo. No, Pete chose an "artist" who had set up shop in a booth at a local carnival and Pete caught him on the carnival's last night in town. You can tell where this is going. Pete proudly informed us the new tattoos on his biceps said "Lucky." in Chinese. He knew that's what the Chinese characters said because that's what he asked the artist to draw, and so he was wearing them now in 'forever ink.' It fell to one of our number, a PhD in Mandarin Chinese studies to break the news. The tattoos actually said "Monkey."

The carnival was long gone. But it left a really nice guy feeling like a clown.

Even if the "artist" who took advantage of our friend was still available, and repentant, there is little he could have done to fix the problem. Some people will have a tattoo artist tattoo over an objectionable tattoo. Possibly blotting it out, (often producing a real mess), Or obliterating it by making it part of another bigger unobjectionable tattoo.

Depending upon the artist's skill level this could simply produce a well-intentioned mess. But Pete could go to a doctor who specializes in removing tattoos with chemicals or lasers, which is usually painful and always expensive, quite often requiring several treatments. That is much more expensive than the tattoo, and still not always effective. That's about all you can do about a bad tattoo, but then the commitment and permanence involved in tattoos is part of the allure for most, making those prerequisites I gave you earlier, of over riding importance.

Tattoos were once frowned upon by polite society, and seen as a designation of the lower classes. They could keep you from being hired for many desirable jobs, which is still the case often today. Be aware your employer may require you as a matter of policy, to remove or cover a new tattoo. But attitudes are changing. Many trendy Hollywood and sports stars proudly sport their "tats."

So if you want a tribal tattoo do your prerequisite homework. Then decide on a tribal style; Celtic, Aztec-Mexican, Polynesian or what have you. Take your time and try to see samples of everything available before you make a decision. You can see tattoo designs online, in books, and e zines. Remember to avoid another common pitfall, that is that most newbies choose one of the first designs they see.

It is important to understand thoroughly that costs and permanence are two characteristics of a tattoo experience that need to be taken into consideration and accepted before any 'Baby-Blue' or 'Bobby Forever' is placed upon the body.

* Tribal - Interlaced Patterns, Animal Forms, Celtic Designs
* Rose - Colored Roses, Cartoon Roses, Yellow Rose
* Butterfly - Sexy Flying butterfly, Hard to Beat
* Heavenly Bodies - Stars, Planets, Sun, Earth, Moon
* Heart - Colored Hearts, Hearts with Names

The sexiest tattoos are the ones that are in locations where men adore. Ankle tattoos are really, very sexy locations for a tattoo for young women and the ever-loved by all, 'tramp-stamp' on the lower back, gets the vote for this tattoo loving reviewer! Research and deep-thought are things that need to be thought about and very carefully before putting ink to the body.

Many women rush into these inking's, such as they rush into relationships and what happens normally with that rushing? Nothing good. A better way is to know exactly what you want to get on your body and then see certain examples of that design or feeling. The tattoo artist does not care how long you take in deciding what will be a permanent fixture or advertisement on your body, as it is extremely important. Conversely, getting to know the tattoo artist is one of the best ways to not only save a little bit on the work but also make a friend!

When thinking about the coolest and sexiest designs for women, stars come to mind. They are primitive and our love for all things feminine in strong women, it is nice to see a half-moon or a series of shooting stars on the body of a vixen. Whenever I see a heavenly body of stars I tend to get weak in the knees. A woman can do no better than having the constellation of the Milky Way draped across her beautiful chest along with some stars dropping down, some stars heading for the white Milky Way of her neck and finally ending up at her smile.

Yet the overall theme is out of this world and very sexy. The bottom line is that you will have to wear this tattoo and if it's sexy, then all the better. But if it is not sexy and falls out of favor, you will have to get it covered up and have a plan B in line so that the tattoo-artist can say I thought we would be doing this one day. Plan your tattoo design so this does not happen. While tattoos for women can be sexy, scars from laser removal surgery are not.

Temporary Butterfly Tattoos For Those Afraid of the Needle

Everyone knows that the butterfly is by far the most popular tattoo design. But on the other hand not everyone has the strength of getting a real butterfly tattoo. Well, no need to worry guys and girls, for simple butterfly tattoos can solve your ordeal. You have two options on how to get temporary butterfly tattoos; one is to get a henna butterfly tattoo and; two is to buy stick-on butterfly tattoos.

Before getting a butterfly henna tattoo, you should take necessary precautions to avoid skin damage. First and foremost, make sure that the henna designer that will make your temporary tattoos is known for his/her work sanitation. Second, ask about the components of the henna mixture. If possible, be physically available during the mixing process to check as well the instruments or containers for the henna mixture. Third step is to make a skin test. Before proceeding with the actual henna tattooing, allow your skin to respond first with the henna mixture. This is to avoid any negative skin reaction that can turn into allergies. Once everything passes your standard, then have your temporary butterfly tattoos made.

On the other hand, stick-on tattoos are more applicable to younger people especially to children. During children parties, stick-on temporary tattoos can make the party extra special. There's no fuss in getting a stick-on tattoos since you only need water to transfer the butterfly from its special paper to the kids' skins.

Whatever option you choose, temporary butterfly tattoos can easily add a splash of color in your days and evades the pain of a real one.

Arm Tattoos For Men - Tribal Armband Or Old School Tattoo Designs on the Arm

The arm is one of the most popular body parts for inking tattoos and they are originally favored by men. They are one of the original body locations, in fact they have been around for centuries. The popularity among men became even wider when sports celebrities like boxers, wrestlers and the fighters in the UFC started getting them.

There are several reasons why a lot of male enthusiasts opt for this kind of tat theme. For one, it is not nearly as painful as other areas of the body because of the amount of muscle present in the said area. There are enough tissues to padding the skin during the tattooing process. They are very manageable since one can easily hide it while at work and then flaunt it while at play. Another reason if the fact that the arm is a great canvas to work on because of the amount of creativity and symmetry of designs that can be inked on it.

The most common variation of design on this specific body area is the tribal arm tattoos. They are either tattooed on the arm itself or wrapped around it as if creating an armband. They include bold line with patterns and dark colors. Tribal arm band tattoos can either be Polynesian, Maori or Japanese - to name a few of the favorite ones. Other popular tattoo art on the arms are the old school ones like skull, heart, crosses and roses. These symbols are still very much around because of their classic appeal and the fact that they seem to symbolize toughness and bravery.

The 4 Hottest Celebrities With UV Ink Tattoo Art

Rebels in motorcycles, rock stars with drug problems, prisoners under long-term sentences-the rowdy people usually associated with tattoo art are a concept of the past. Now, even college students with straight A's, beauty queens and bankers sport their own tattoos. Even famous people such as actors and musicians have their own celebrity tattoos. And because tattoo art has emerged from the underground scene to become a mainstream form of body enhancement, different variations and types of tattoo ink are now being used to push the envelope of tattooing.

UV tattoos (or black light tattoos) are created using white tattoo ink or a special kind of ink that only becomes visible under black light. This type of tattoo ink has been used in celebrity tattoos and is currently more costly than regular tattoo ink. Tattoo art done with white ink or UV ink can be more painful, though, than those done with regular tattoo ink since thicker and more high-quality ink has to be used. But this hasn't stopped Hollywood A-listers to get their own white ink tattoo. Kate Moss started the trend and a lot of young women followed suit. Interestingly, though, no male celebrity was reported as getting or sporting a white ink tattoo. Below are four beautiful stars who dared to be different with this type of tattoo.

* Kate Moss. The supermodel, fashion designer and mother of one has had a number of tattoos done over the years. Besides small, dainty tattoos of swallows on her lower back, a heat on her left hand, a crown on her left shoulder and an anchor on her right forearm, this stunning beauty was reported to have numerous stars in white tattoo ink done all over one side of her body.

* Lindsay Lohan. This wild girl had her first tattoo art done on her forearm-a tiny, black outline of a star. She soon became addicted to this form of body art and her collection of tattoos includes the words "la bella vita" on her lower back. Inspired by a John Lennon quote ("Get out there and get peace, think peace, live peace, and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like"), Lindsay had the word "breathe" tattooed in white ink on her wrist.

* Jasmine Lennard. The feisty English model, reality TV star and ex-girlfriend of American Idol's Simon Cowell transformed her body into a canvas for tattoo art by having Simon's initials inked on the inside of her arm. She also has the words "trust no one" tattooed on a finger. She also hit the parlor-not for a blowdry-but for a white ink tattoo, which spelled "amore appassionato" (love passionately). She says she saw Lindsay Lohan's own white ink tattoo and was inspired to get one herself.

* Khloe Kardashian. This rebellious reality TV star has numerous tattoo art in different parts of her body. She says that each tattoo she has means something to her. She has the word "Daddy" with a cross on the small of her back, the words "I love you" in her late father's handwriting on her wrist, and her husband's initials on her hand. She also has the letters "KK," which are the initials of all her sisters, done in white ink on her wrist.

Tattoo art has come a long way from being insignias of gangs or a good way to pass the time in prison. Tattoos are now considered a form of art and even grace Hollywood's hottest. But even if almost everyone you know has got a tattoo, you can choose to still be different by taking it a step further like Lindsay Lohan or Kate Moss. Try a white ink tattoo or a UV ink tattoo to definitely stand out from the crowd.

Body Art Around the World

Body adornment has always included body painting, tattooing, and other kinds of body art, this has been the case over the ages; but in recent times, body art has become more varied and endlessly creative. It now includes variations such as, Face Painting & Body Art, Gestational Painting (or Pregnant Belly Art), and Temporary Tattoos: Glitter, Henna & Body Illustration. It is now so popular that it is common practice for a body artist or a face painter to be invited to a social gathering like a party or a wedding, corporate events and promotions, so that the guests can take home a unique memento to remember the party by.

Body art is that art which is made on, with, or consisting of, the human body. It also includes scarification, branding, scalpelling, shaping (for example tight-lacing of corsets), full body tattoo and body painting.

Primitive and tribal societies have some marvellous (if painful looking) examples of body art, such as earlobe stretching among many African tribes, and many other kinds of piercings.

Tattooing was a method of identification for old timers in India, when illiterate people would typically have their own name tattooed on a visible part of the body such at the back of the hand or the forearm.

The significance of henna at wedding ceremonies in India is now well known, with one entire pre-wedding event dedicated to what is known as the 'mehndi ceremony'. All the females in the bride's entourage would typically gather to have henna artist make intricate, elaborate and beautiful henna patterns in the hands, arms and feet as part of the wedding celebraions.

The World Body Painting Festival is held in Austria in the third week of July, which is the biggest festival of its kind. There are different categories of competitions, brush and sponge, airbrush, and special effects. A UV effects contest is also part of this festival. All models must be wearing underpants while painted, but female models can go topless if they want. It is a singular experience to be used as an artists' canvas, so many participants of the festival offer themselves as models without any charge.

The Australian Body Art Carnivale is an event that celebrates the creative genius involved in body art and body painting and will be held this year over the coming weekend in September in Edmundi. "This "Festival of Colour" drawing together cutting-edge artists from around the globe, who will create masterpieces before your eyes using the human body as their inspiration - and canvas!Aside from the spectacular full body art and some serious face painting, the Carnivale will also include traditional Aboriginal body painting, pavement art, a wearable art competition and parade, photographic competitions and a visual art exhibition called "Art of the Body" as well as life drawing and sculpting workshops.

Tattoo - Choosing Your Design

For most people, having a tattoo is a form of self-expression. It can be a symbol of love for people who have tattoos of something that represent their partners. It can also be a symbol of loyalty for something that they feel strongly for, such as a favorite quotation or a favored pet.

Nowadays, one can choose from a lot of different tattoo designs that tattoo shops offer. Surely one can find the perfect design that will fit his or her specifications. If not, one can always personalize his or her tattoo by creating his or her own specific design.

The process of getting a tattoo also does not take so much time from one's usual routine. It can just be finished after an hour or two for those who want to have less complicated designs for their tattoo. Because it is also a relatively painless process, some people even add another set of tattoos on them. There are even some who cover their bodies with tattoos.

Tattoos can either be permanent or not. For those people who do not want to permanently carry a marking on a particular part of their body, they just opt for henna tattoo because it is temporary and will only last a few for a few weeks. It is also a painless way of self-expression.

For some people, henna tattooing is preferable that permanent tattooing because then it just allows them to choose a different design as soon as the tattoo wears off. For people who prefer to have the same design and have decided to keep it on for a long time, a permanent tattoo would be the perfect choice for them. It would just save one the time from having to go to a tattoo shop and have one created on your skin again.

Nowadays, seeing people wearing a tattoo on a part of their body, even on their face is not really considered as a not so ordinary occurrence anymore. Society has long accepted the wearing of tattoos as normal for a person whereas it was considered as an atheistic practice before. Even celebrities who are seen on the big screen have tattoos that they sometimes show off to the public.

Tribal Tattoo Designs Bring Primitive Art to Life

Tribal art tattoos look great, but more importantly, every tribal design has a deeper meaning. When choosing a tribal tattoo, you should consider these meanings, and make sure that you believe in the statement that you are making.

Choosing A Tribal Design Tattoo

There are several different tribal tattoo designs to choose from. There are tribal zodiac designs, suns and stars, religious symbols, and even tribal band tattoos. Each design has a meaning, be it spiritual or societal. This has been the case since ancient times, when tattoos were used either to mark affiliation with a group, or religious, magical, or spiritual beliefs.

Some of the oldest known tribal tattoos existed thousands of years ago. Many of these tattoos depicted the sun and stars to honor the Sun God and the element of fire. Tribal sun tattoos, as well as stars, can vary in size and detail. This makes them adaptable for any part of your body, though the shoulders and back seem to be the most popular locations. If you want to get creative, you can make a chain of tribal stars with a tribal sun image as the center point.

Another choice of recent popularity is zodiac tribal tattoos. The zodiac is the first known celestial coordinate system. The Greek and Roman zodiac is the most popular, but cultures all over the world have applied astrological meaning to the stars for millenia. While there is no scientific basis, many people identify with the traits of their zodiac sign. If you are one of these people, a tribal zodiac tattoo may be right for you.

As stated, tattoos have represented religious meaning for many years. Because of this, many people have chosen to represent their beliefs in primitive ways with a tribal design of religious symbols. Depending on your beliefs, you may want to do some research before you make your decision. The key is to make sure that you use a symbol that is most meaningful to you. From there, you can be creative in your design, or allow your tattoo artist to design a tattoo for you.

Tribal armband tattoos are possibly the most common form of tribal art. Armbands are usually formed of flames, barbed wire, or knot work, but you do not have to stay with the basics. The point of a tattoo is to make it personal, so you can use any type of tribal art that you would like to incorporate in your armband. For example, you could use barbed wire to wrap around your arm, holding a religious symbol or zodiac sign in place. Other images can be incorporated, as well, including animals or words. For something a bit more personalized, armband tattoos can even be modified to fit around the wrist, as well.

Tattoo Me Now - Tattoo Ideas

Where To Get The Best Tattoo Ideas

It can be hard to come up with tattoo ideas. You can search for a long time without finding anything that is just right.

You might set out to design something for yourself, because you want it to be unique. That is a great idea if you know what you are doing. But the problem is that even if you are very talented at drawing, you may not be able to design something that will work well as a tattoo.

A tattoo needs to look good from close up and far away. Plus, the colors available to the tattooist are limited. There are only certain colors that he can use and your design needs to make the most of them. So it is difficult to design your own tattoo.

The way that most people get a tattoo is very impulsive. Usually they decide that they want to have some area of their body tattooed, without having any idea of the design. They get in line at the local tattoo artist's place and flick through the sheets of drawings that he or she provides,
looking for tattoo ideas. Whatever they pick out is probably not what they really wanted but they don't have much time and it seems the best of what is there.

A tattoo is for life. And yet, if you pick it out in the way that I just described, there is a good chance that you will end up with something that:

- your friends don't like
- your partner doesn't like
- you may not even like yourself in a week or a month or a year

And probably a ton of other people in your city will have the exact same tattoo from the same tattooist. As soon as you come out of there it's almost certain that you will start seeing it on other people's arms, shoulders or backs.

Plus, it could turn out to have some special symbolic meaning that you are not comfortable with. It could have religious or political significance. It could identify you as a member of some group that you would never want to belong to. The tattooist didn't tell you ... maybe he didn't even know! It was just some design in a book, after all ...

So be sure to research your tattoo ideas before you get in line. Show up with something you picked out ahead of time and already showed to the important people in your life. Something that probably nobody else has in your town. That way, you will always be proud of your tattoo.

Angel Tattoo Designs - Angel Wing Tattoos

There is no doubt that angel and angel wing tattoos have become extremely popular in recent years. And why not? Angels are some of the purest creatures that one can choose to ink on their bodies. They are very spiritual; these tattoos are around the most religious out there! However, not everyone who decides on angel wing tattoos or angel tattoo designs is getting them because of religious reasons. Angels stand for so much more than that.

Angel wing tattoos can be found in many shapes and sizes. Some span the entire area of people's back while others are small enough to fit nicely on your ankle. So how do you know what size to get? It's all about your personal preference. Some people just don't want an enormous tattoo covering their backs. Smaller angel wing tattoos are much easier to hide and some find them more attractive.

Full-bodied angel tattoo designs are just as or even more popular than angel wing tattoos. While the wings are cute and subtle, an entire angel can depict exactly what you want them to be thinking and feeling. The tattoo can portray a happy, peaceful angel or a protective guardian angel. Some illustrate a saddened fallen angel, while others represent adorable, cheery cherubs.

Although angels are correctly identified as beings living under God, people have interpreted them differently. Some recognize guardian angels as the highest class because of all that they do for the living. When people opt for guardian angel tattoos, they generally go for the full-back wing tattoo designs. This particular angel wing tattoo is usually the largest you will find. After all, the back is the largest blank canvas on our bodies!

Any tattoo discussion about angel tattoo designs without mentioning the enchanting cherub angels would just be shameful. Everyone knows about Cupid: the cherub who brings love to all he comes across. There are loads of people who love his character and choose to get his likeness tattooed on themselves. Cherubs are normally jovial, crafty and chubby.

The type of angel wing tattoos that has grown the most over the years is the fallen angel. This can be depicted as either a full angel tattoo or just the wings. Fallen angels are those who have been exiled from heaven for disobeying or rebelling against God. The most widely-known angel is Lucifer, also knows as Satan. Fallen angel tattoo designs usually depict a sad, sometimes crying angel either wailing in pain or slumped to the ground to where you cannot see their faces. Simple fallen angel wing tattoos show the wings in a dilapidated state, more often than not with torn or missing feathers.

If there was an angel tattoo design made for men, the archangel is it. They are known as fighters for God. Therefore, they generally have armor and weapons on or with them in tattoo designs. Michael, the most well-known archangel for leading the battle against Lucifer, is often memorialized with this type of angel tattoo design.

No matter which of the angel tattoo designs or angel wing tattoos you choose, make sure it's the right decision for you. Getting a tattoo isn't simply about the look of the tat itself, but it's also about what it stands for. People will always interpret tattoos differently. As long as you are comfortable with what your tattoo means to you, the beauty of your angel tattoo will shine!

From flowers, letters to animals and birds almost all things find significance in tattoo design and arts. And that is the reason the tattoo art is the most flexible and most profoundly overflowing art form for body art. And hence are the Tiger Tattoos.

In Asia the tiger is associated with might of kings and power which is a position similar to Lion tattoos and designs that are accepted in European Countries and Middle East. Though it is a symbol of predator but the tiger has some greater significance than being simply a predator. For instance in Indian Culture the Tiger is often seen as savior of good from the evil, a destroyer of bad as the Hindu Goddess rides on it to kill the Evil Power and save the world and heaven from the Rakshasas. It is also seen as power of god Shiva as he rides on tiger or sits on tiger skin.

In Korean culture Tiger is considered the King of all animals and hence they find greater significance in this culture. Many Korean tattoos and designs are with the tiger showed in different positions. The tiger cubs also find importance with the tiger tattoos. Though it is usually seen as a power of strength, destruction and violence, yet the tiger can be a symbol of continuity of life, the law of nature where it makes a balance of ecosystem and a part of it.

Its destructive power is seen against the evil powers. In Chinese culture the tiger images are used as symbols of charms because it is believed that such charms would ward off evil from the home or other places. That's why you find stone tiger images often used outside home as protective guards to ward off the evil omens and spirits. It is believed that during the rule of Chou dynasty, the images of tigers were hung in the room of the pregnant lady to protect the unborn baby from evil spirits. They are thought as punisher of sinners in the name of a supreme being.

It is also believed that the Na-hsi tribe of Tibet has been descendants of tigers and that's why the Na-hsi tigers are gifted to new born children as well as those who are newly married. Such is the significance of the tigers in tattoo art and culture.

Butterfly Flower Tattoos

Butterfly flower tattoos are the most sought after designs for feminine tattoos. Whether you incorporate the butterfly and flower in one design or decide to separate them, there are endless possibilities to make it your own and make it unique. What makes these so popular are their beauty, symbolic meaning, and infinite variety in pattern and color. You may choose to spread butterfly wings on your lower back, a small one as an ankle design, or a butterfly with flowers as a stunning tail bone tattoo.

When choosing a tattoo consider what it symbolizes, what statement you want to make and what it says about you or who you are. A butterfly tattoo means rebirth or transformation. It can also have spiritual significance as life after death. Some consider it a symbol of divine love or freedom. Flowers also have several profound and multi-layered meanings. Each type of flower possesses its own. For example, the Lotus, like the hibiscus flower, is traditionally accepted as a symbol of estranged love and the empty yearning it entails. The lily has several meanings specific to the type. A calla lily represents maiden modesty or beauty. The water lily symbolizes purity of heart. My favorite, the daisy, generally represents innocence.

I suggest doing your research. Once you know what type of design you want, consider what you want your color palette to be. Remember butterfly flower tattoos have a limitless color scheme. Take your time and look at plenty of ideas. Sampling art online can be useful at this stage. It is well worth the time and effort, since it will become part of who you are permanently. Look through online galleries to gather ideas that inspire you. Consider browsing the local artist's photo books to get an overall view of his/her style. Once you have a specific idea, take it to a tattoo artist and let them sketch out on paper your design.

Remember, art never goes out of style and it will be a beautiful part of who you are.

Wings Tattoos Designs - Symbol and Significance

There are many interpretations for wings tattoos designs and one of the most popular symbolical representation is flying or flight. More than being a romantic image because it often creates an angelic symbol, it can also be seen as an escape from the limits of earthly existence and into the boundless freedom of the soul or spirit. Wings have been associated with many animals most especially mystical creatures like winged horses and dragons, fairies and butterflies among others. These creatures are very magical in nature and has captured a huge number of audience.

One of the most popular type of wings tattoos designs are those that have the love symbol attached to it. It is a symbol that dates back to mystical periods where legendary heroes are the center of attention. For some mystics, the winged heart represents a yearning for the heavens, as if the heart tries to reach a higher plane. It is a metaphor for shelter and redemption as much as it is known for being a symbol for freedom.

Wing designs tattoos also represent courage and valor and it is nothing less than a death-defying act. Back in the ancient times, wings symbolize speed and power. They believed that the power to fly can make any creature, even humans, less prone to defeat and more invincible.

When people choose to have a wing design administered to them as tattoos, it is often because of the spiritual and inspirational significance this certain image has over their lives. For example, an angel design with wide wings represent guidance, protection and shelter. It can also symbolize ones dreams and aspirations such as having a wing design that takes on a feathery shape as that of a bird.

This is as if to say that the bearer wants to soar high or fly high and reach for his or her dreams. It depends on the creature that is chosen that sometimes defines the meaning of the tattoo. Take an eagle with its wings spread wide open. It connotes a feeling of power, protection, aggressiveness and strength. While a pair of fairy wings might symbolize purity, mystic charm and playfulness. These wing tattoos are sometimes worn as a badge or a testimony to their experience in receiving wings to fly or to soar.
